Lead Mechanical Engineer As Lead Mechanical Design Engineer you will be responsible for hands on design as well as managing a small team of experienced Mechanical Design Engineers, the company is based in the Alton region in Hampshire and they are paying an attractive salary circa £40,000. You will be involved in the development of small and medium sized mechanical mechanisms using Solidworks 3D and AutoCAD 2D used in complex special purpose equipment. You will provide all supporting documentation for work produced by the team in order to support design specifications and you will support the production team to ensure all products can be easily manufactured. You will design taking into account DFM and all cost considerations. You will be Degree/HNC/HND educated and have experience designing Electro-Mechanical Design (ideally with products used in harsh environmental conditions), experience of cooling systems would also be an advantage. Ideally you will have worked with Solidworks and/or AutoCAD as a preference but other CAD packages will be considered, some Management experience either as a Senior, Lead or Team Leader within in a Mechanical Design Department would be useful. Knowledge of engineering requirement for high temperature or nuclear industries would be an advantage for the role. The company is based in the Alton, Hampshire region and is commutable from Basingstoke, Winchester, Farnham, Farnborough, Fleet, Guilford and other locations in Hampshire and Surrey.
