Senior Mechanical Design Engineer and Design Engineer A Senior Mechanical Design Engineer and a Mechanical Design Engineer is required for a leading company based in Portsmouth, Hampshire on a six month contract basis, the role is likely to lead to a permanent position if you are successful in the contract position. Your role will be to engage in all aspects of Mechanical Design team ensuring that all your design are fit for purpose and can be economically manufactured. The product is manufactured to take account of plastics and injection moulding manufacturing techniques and you should have an awareness of Enclosure systems for Electronics and PCB's. A Mechanical Engineer can receive between £25,000 and £40,000 per year depending upon the seniority of the position plus additional benefits. You will hold a minimum of a HNC/HND and ideally a Degree within a Mechanical Design field; this will be supported by experience of material properties, manufacturing methods, 3D CAD tools (i.e. Solid works, Pro-e, Solid Edge), Design for Manufacture, ideally some experience of leading design teams for the senior positions and an excellent track record in innovation in Design. Both roles are available on a six month contract basis and it is expected you can start as soon as possible, it is possible the role will be converted into a permanent position during the six month period. The senior role is paying up to £40,000 and the Mechanical Design Engineering role is paying up to £33,000 and both positions are based in Portsmouth, Hampshire.
